New York AREA Comments on Labor Resolution at Indian Point

New York, NY/September 30, 2004 — Jerry Kremer, chairman to the advisory board for the New York Affordable Reliable Electricity Alliance (New York AREA) today issued the following statement on a five-year contract between security officers at the Indian Point Energy Center, represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local No. 456, and the plants’ owner, Entergy Nuclear Northeast.
“The five year contract between the security officers and the company is both welcome and expected good news. Both parties have carefully worked together to make sure that Indian Point’s security is of the highest quality, and indeed second to none, when it comes to industrial facilities in America.

“The downstate region needs Indian Point’s power to thrive and grow. The continuing spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and healthy labor relations between the company and the security officers is good news for businesses and homeowners in downstate New York,” said Kremer.
